More Commanding Officers

Of USS Rathburne FF-1057

Looking for photos and history of CO's and XO's of USS Rathburne. ANY Help between 1977 and de-commissioning in 1993 is appreciated. On June 30 1975 the ship was designated as a FF, which most know stands for fast frigate.

Fourth Commanding Officer

You may say to yourself that Cdr Russell was on the last page. And you are correct. But I believe he has the distinction on serving as Commanding officer DE-1057 and FF-1057. At least that's what I believe right now until we receive input from you our reader. Looking for fifth C.O. and beyond. So if you find missing info in your old cruise book or you have a welcome aboard pamphlet, Change of command program, or just a visitors pamphlet from a ships open house please find a way to submit.

This was the first Regular scheduled overhaul. I also know there was major work accomplished to the boilers replacing the super heater tubes on both boilers.

Fifth Commanding Officer

On 6 December 1975 Commander Leland E. Wood, Jr releived Commander Russell to become Rathburnes 5th Commanding Officer. Presently no Bio avail  but if you have a cruise book or a copy of the Change of command you  may  be able to help here. Thanks Jim for providing som 76 history..
