Thirteen

Zac started shifting again in his stance. Ever since he talked with her again, he felt uncomfortable and agitated. Leave it to a girl to ruin a good thing. He thought irritably.
"Guys, can I go outback for a while?" He asked quietly when he didn't hear anyone else coming up to them.
"You want someone to come with you?" Taylor asked unsure if he should be outside alone at a concert hall.
He shook his head slowly, "Nah, I'll be okay."
"You sure?" Isaac questioned, just to make sure.
   He nodded, "Yeah."
"Okay, we'll get someone to walk you there, ok?" Taylor said as he stood up from leaning against the table behind them.
"Yeah, okay." Zac answered as he too stood up.
But Isaac didn't budge, "Worried about that one fan?" He asked softly.
He hung his head, "Yeah, kinda."
   "Kinda?"
He laughed, "Yeah, kinda." He stressed before shaking his head a second later. "What'd she look like, Ike?"
Isaac eyed him for a second, "She was about four or five inches shorter than you, black hair, though streaked with blue," He added smiling at Zac's facial features. "Umm… green eyes, thin… want me to keep going?"
Zac shook his head, "No. That's more than enough."
As a second thought he added, "Thanks."
"Yeah," Isaac said concernedly, "You're welcome."
Finally being allowed to slip away from the crowd, Zac stood outside the large building and relaxed when the cool air bathed his warm face.
Closing his eyes, his head began to clear and his ears slowly almost stopped ringing from the loud screams.
"You're blind, aren't you?" A soft voice asked gently.
Zac jumped and backed up against the brick wall, "Who are you?" He asked nervously.
"Don't you remember me?" The voice questioned.
Quickly, he noticed the voice; "You're the girl who knocked me down!" He accused hotly.
Summer instantly defended herself, "I was running around the corner! I didn't even see you!"
"Well, what a coincidence!" Zac fired back sarcastically; "I didn't see you either!"
She gasped loudly, and instantly he regretted his words, "So you are blind!"
Thinking quickly, he shook his head, "I couldn't see around the corner." Zac corrected her, by pointing out the obvious. "I can't leap tall buildings and I'm sorry, but I don't have X-ray vision either!"
Summer moved closer to him and stepped into the light of the street lamp. "Zac?" She asked softly.
He tilted his head in the direction her voice was coming from. "What?"
"What do I look like?" She questioned speculatively.
He started laughing at her, "You mean you don't know?"
She smiled slightly, "I want you to tell me what I look like."
Zac sighed and shrugged his shoulders, and looked over in her direction as if looking her over. "You're a couple inches shorter than me, possibly about five inches shorter. You have black hair, and it's streaked with blue. You're thin, and your eyes are green."
Summer stared at him, her eyes straining since he wasn't standing in the light. "I guess you're not blind then." She murmured shamefully.
He shook his head slowly, "And I'm sorry I snapped at you in the hallway. I was nervous and I shouldn't have been a jerk."
She smiled at him; "I shouldn't have been back there anyway." She said laughing.
Zac laughed as well, "What were you doing back there?"
Summer started laughing more. "Umm, well you see," She started. "I didn't want to meet you guys with teeny boppers screaming in my ears and face." She told him shaking her head. "That annoys me, and gives me a headache."
He simply shrugged his shoulders, "You get used to it after a while. I guess I prone to it now."
She laughed again, "But I don't wanna get used to it!"
Zac shook his head, and extended his hand out to her, "Come on." He offered, "It's getting cold out here, and I bet people are getting worried and curious as to where we are."
Summer giggled lightly and placed one hand over her mouth, and took Zac's hand with the other. "Lead the way." She instructed.
A small cold chill raced up his back, But I can't. He thought regretfully, as he grasped for the doorknob, luckily finding it on the first try. Opening the door he started praying, Please Lord, don't let me screw up now.
