Fourteen

Zac sighed tiredly as he threw himself on his bed. "I cannot believe that today is finally over." He muttered. "I swear it was going to last forever."
Taylor chuckled from his bed; "It did seem unusually long today." He stated. "I think it's because of the circumstances."
Isaac nodded and decided to join in their conversation, "It was something different and new. But it's also been a long time since we got to perform."
"No, I think it's just because that girl decided to ask if I was blind or not." Zac replied, nodding his head in mock nonchalance.
   "What?!"
Zac lifted his head; it was sometimes amazing how his brothers could sound the same when they were screaming. He smiled sweetly at them, "Oh," He said in false ignorance. "Didn’t I tell you?"
Isaac jumped down from his bed, "No," He stated slowly. "You did not tell us."
It didn't take a non-blind person to see that he was talking through clenched teeth.
They patiently waited for Taylor to come and sit near him too. It wouldn't be the same without him.
Groaning, Taylor kicked off his blanket, "Fine, fine." He muttered, knowing exactly what they wanted. "I'm here, I'm here." He said plopping down next to him on the bed.
Zac grinned again. "When I went outback." He said nodding, "She was out there too."
"Why didn't you call for a bodyguard." Isaac chastised quickly.
He laughed, "Like you said, she was about four or five inches shorter than me." He said shrugging. "I wasn't about to let someone girl shorter than me, know that I was afraid of her!"
Taylor laughed at that, and Isaac smiled slightly.
   "Still," He started again.
Zac sighed loudly; "Can I just tell the story, please?" He asked exasperated.
   He laughed, "Fine, continue."
"Thank you." He said rolling his eyes. "Anyway, before I was so rudely interrupted," He commented looking pointedly in Isaac's direction he started back up again. "We talked about her running into me in the hallway and she asked me if I was blind after I kinda blew up at her. I told her that I wasn't."
He shook his head, "Then she asked me to describe what she looked like." Then he smiled a small smile, "And due to Isaac's expert description that he had given to me earlier, I was able to give it to her fully!" He stated proudly.
Both Isaac and Taylor started laughing with him.
"But thank God you guys came to get me when you did!" Zac said thankfully a second later.
"Why's that?" Taylor asked still laughing a little.
Zac started shaking his head again. "I told her that we should go inside, and I offered my hand to her." He paused for a second. "She told me to lead the way." He said quietly.
Then he raised his head up again, "Guys, I was so scared of ruining it. I had just lied to her and convinced her that I wasn't blind… and I just knew," he murmured. "I just knew that I was going to screw up and ruin it all."
Isaac placed his hand on his small shoulder. "But it didn't happen." He consoled him. "You did it perfectly. You didn't mess up, and no one suspects a thing, Zac."
He didn't say anything, just stayed slightly hunched over, as if the weight of the world was on his shoulders.
Taylor looked over at Isaac questioningly but he couldn't give him an answer. Slowly they started to drift back towards their beds and Zac laid down in his bed.
   "Goodnight guys." He said quietly.
"Night, Zac." Isaac called back tiredly.
   "Goodnight, Zac." Taylor said yawning.
Rolling over in his bed, Zac tried hard to remember what his bedroom wall looked like. A vague memory appeared, then slowly started to vanish. He squeezed his eyes shut. That's how everything was appearing to him lately. Very vague, then disappearing.
   Just like, my life.
