Chapter 6

"Charm, why don't you show Julia to your room?" Syrus asked smiling encouragingly.
Because I don't want to have to burn it when she leaves. She thought bitterly.
She smiled back sweetly. "Only if she wants to see it." She said shrugging
A smile flickered on Julia's lips. "I'd love to." She said in her falsely sweet voice.
"Then follow me." Dahven said walking out of the parlor.
Grudgingly, she started walking up the stairs. Okay God, now I know that whatever I did, it wasn’t this bad.
"Your house is so big, Charm." Julia commented politely.
Dahven nodded. "Yeah, it was built that way." She replied hastily.
They walked into her room and Julia shut the door. Her sweet smile fell from her lips and was replaced with an angry scowl as soon as it closed.
"Why are you trying to take Isaac away from me? You were the one who set us up in the first place. Are you so afraid that Isaac will want to be with me more than you?"
Dahven sat down on her bed and started laughing. "Julia, you are so paranoid. Geez, I'm not trying to steal Isaac away from you. I don't want Isaac that way."
She forced herself to shrug carelessly, "And Isaac should be with you more than I should because your are his girlfriend practically. And I will guarantee this. You will never be able to take my place, and I will never be able to take yours."
Julia was angry that Dahven was laughing at her. Her face burned and then she smiled. "Isaac would never want someone with your family background anyway. Someone so low-key."
"What are you talking about?" Dahven said uninterested as she perused through her collection of nail polish.
"I'm talking about the fact that my father practically forced Syrus to marry Kasha because he got her pregnant when he was at Ireland." Julia said smugly.
Raising her eyes, Dahven warned; "You better start talking, Julia."
"Arie was an accident, you see. Syrus slept with Kasha before they were even thinking about marriage. It was supposed to be a one-night stand. My father found out that Kasha was pregnant though and forced Syrus to marry her and bring her to the States." Julia smile was growing when she saw Dahven's face pale under her words.
"What else do you know about my family?" Dahven choked out, her mouth was so dry she could barely swallow.
Julia shrugged nonchalantly, "Oh, that one night Syrus came home drunk from a party at the firm. Raped Kasha and hey, what do you know, she got pregnant again. I'll give you two guesses with whom. And it wasn't Arie." She grinned triumphantly
Dahven stood up quickly. "Leave now." She whispered pointing to the door.
Julia didn't stir and her blood boiled. "Girl, I swear that if you don't move I'm gonna make sure you'll regret it!!!" She yelled angrily.
Julia's smile was pure satisfaction. "Just remember. Isaac's mine. We may not have been best friends since we were little, but you know what they say. We always make new friend's, and we forget about the old ones." She said before she walked out of Dahven's room.
Dahven flung herself onto her bed. "She's lying!!" She stated pounding her fist on the wall above her head.
A small indention marked the spot she hit. She stood up, grabbed her keys, and ran downstairs for the garage. She opened the garage door and drove her car out. The evening air was getting cold so she stopped to put the top up.

"So where are we going tonight?" Taylor asked sitting up in his bed.
Isaac looked at him strangely. "I thought I already told you." He shook his head. "Anyway we're going to 'The Club.'"
Zac perked up a bit more. "Yeah!" He shouted excitedly.
Taylor smiled at him. "So who's all going?"
"Umm, we're going to pick up Julia and D is going to meet us there." He said brushing his hair.
Taylor took the brush that Isaac was handing him. "Thanks. Why are we picking up Julia? Doesn't she have a car?"
Isaac raised an eyebrow at him. "Yes, she does. But this is kinda like a second date thing." He explained.
"Gross!!" Taylor whined. "I don't want go with you on your date with Julia. I don't want to be anywhere near Julia."
"What's wrong with Julia?" Isaac asked sitting in the chair at the computer.
    "She scares us!" Zac shouted.
Isaac started laughing. "You're scared of Julia? Why?"
"Just the fact the she reminds us of the female version of Satan." Taylor pointed out.
Isaac shook his head. "Don't worry. D and I will be there to protect you."
Taylor and Zac looked at each other. Unsure if they believed their older brother. Then Taylor shrugged. "I guess. But if all you see in the morning are our ashes, you know who did it!"
Isaac laughed again before he pushed Zac and Taylor out of their bedroom door, down the stairs, and out to the minivan.

~ Dahven's Car ~

"Shit, shit, shit." Dahven said as she stepped harder on the gas pedal.
She checked her watch. "Ahhh, crikey!" She shouted and then she pressed down even harder on the gas pedal.
She raced into the parking. The tires locking up as she stomped on the brakes.
The force flew her forward, but the seatbelt stopped her. The headlights illuminated figures standing in front of her. They stood there scared. Like a deer would have been. She put her car in park and hopped out. "Hey, guys." She said walking up to Isaac, Taylor, Zac, and her favorite person in the whole wide world. Julia.
"Well, at least you weren't late." Taylor said smiling.
Dahven laughed, "I try not to be. But I almost got a ticket."
"How fast were you going?" Zac asked in awe.
Dahven shrugged slightly. "I don't know. The little line don't go past one-twenty."
They all snickered at the joke. That is all except Julia.
"You could have killed someone or yourself. Do you want that to happen?" She asked heatedly.
Only if it would mean it killed you. She thought tiredly. But she smiled sweetly again, "Julia, I can take care of myself. I've been driving like that ever since I could drive a go-kart. I know what I'm doing and I know what I can and can't handle."
Julia looked at her. Not believing a word of what she was saying.
Dahven sighed and rolled her eyes. "Can we go in now, guys? Or are they going to start bringing everything out here?"
"We're going to go in." Isaac said taking Julia's hand and leading them through the double doors of the teen hang out.
After an hour of dancing and shouting, Julia leaned over the table. "So did you two ever date?" She asked Isaac and Dahven.
Taylor and Zac started laughing, while Isaac smiled and Dahven tried to hold back her own laughter.
She cleared her throat. "Uhh, yeah, kinda. A long time ago. But we broke up."
Julia gave her a bewildered look. "Why?"
Dahven shook her head. "He stole my Barbie." She said in mock anger.
"He did what?" Julia asked confused.
Isaac blushed, "Umm, we were young. When it happened." He explained weakly.
Dahven stood up. "Excuse me." She said leaving, and going into the bathroom to splash cold water on her face.
Then she heard it. 'I will always love you’ was playing loudly over the speakers.
Smiling to herself and rushed out of the bathroom. She quickly scanned the room for Isaac. He had to have requested it for them. That was the song she requested for them for as it had been out.
Then she felt as if he had just ripped her heart out.
    He was dancing with Julia.
"That's are song." She whispered fiercely. "Not theirs." She shook her head. "Not theirs." She murmured.
"Charm, would you like to dance." Taylor asked softly behind her.
He'd already seen Isaac and Julia dancing and he knew that she would be hurting from the strike.
Dahven shook her head. "No, thanks Tay. I'm gonna go home now. Tell everyone good bye for me, okay?" She said as she started to walk away.
Taylor caught hold of Dahven's arm. "You want some company? I'm a real good listener." He offered kindly.
"Tay, if I do have company right now, I will more than likely end up killing them. And you have your band, family, friends, and fans to think of. It’s best if I go alone." She said turning away.
Isaac walked back over to the table after the song ended. "Where's D?" He asked holding onto Julia's hand, and sitting down in front of Taylor.
He gave him a disgusted look. "She left, and I think its best if we leave too." He announced sharply.
Isaac gave him an odd look and nodded.

~ Dahven's House ~

Dahven slammed the door to her room shut.
Jamming her 'No Doubt’ CD into her player, she hunted for a cassette and quickly recorded a song.
Slipping it into an envelope, she scribbled a name and address on the front, then went and set it downstairs for the maid to have sent personally over to its destination.
Returning to her room, she dressed into her silver silk pj's and lay in her bed. The day slowly played itself over and over again in her mind. She couldn't stop it.
She rolled over and noticed that she was crying. She tried wiping away her tears, but they kept coming. So she shut her eyes tightly and fell into a dreamless sleep.
