Vaa Fonoti is on a mission to be the first McKinley running back to reach 1,000 yards

At Kailua, the Tiger offense need help from their defense to get started.   On their first play from scrimmage the Tigers fumbled on their own 10 yard line. Defense held the mustangs to a field goal.  The Tigers went in to the half with the lead 6-3.  Free Safety Kaipo Avilez brought the Tigers out of their sluggish performance with an 55 yard interception return for a touchdown. Defense held the Mustangs under a 100 yard total offense.

Running back Va'a Fonoti achieved his goal at a 1,000 yards.  Fonoti gained 260 yards on 25 carries to be the first McKinley Rusher to reach the big "G" in the Coach Tanuvasa era.  The Tigers, along with Castle Knights, and The Campbell Sabers share the White Conference Title.  Castle is the #1 seed, #2 McKinley, #3 Campbell.  The Tigers will be play the Red Raiders of Kahuku Friday October 27.  The Tigers must win the first round of the play-offs to be in the state tournament.
