    Running back Vaa Fonoti rushed for 111 yards to propel the Tigers at Aloha Stadium.  Tigers Senior Peter Kepa scored two touchdowns for the Tigers, one on a 1-yard run and another on a 8-yard reception from   #3 Abraham Pavich pau1.gif (57470 bytes)who's jersey number was #12 last year.  Kepa's touchdowns, combined with Lawrence Soriano's 22 yard interception for a touchdown return gave the Tigers a 21-0 lead in just the first quarter.  Lorgan Pau's five-ylimatoasack1.jpg (58699 bytes)ard touchdown run in the second quarter made it 28-0 at the half.  The Tigers got their fifth touchdown with 4:42 left in the third quarter on Edward Sanchez's 9 yard run.  Edward Sanchez who Coach Tanuvasa converted to Fullback from defensive line showed to be a good back-up to Va'a Fonoti.  With the Tigers ahead 35-0, the running clock was instituted, stopping only for timeouts and scores.  Matthew K-Aloha had an interception for McKinley and linemen #84 Lima Toa, linebacker #10 Chris Williams and #44 Justin Ka'apa had sacks for the Tigers defense, which allowed 121 of total offense for the Wolfpacks.  Coach  kaapasack.gif (51841 bytes)Tanuvasa was glad that he got to see the second group play.   The Tigers racked up over 300 yards in total offense. 200 of those yards were on the ground.   The Tiger Offensive line was with out starter #70 Mose Mose who was down for the first half for disciplinary reasons.  #71 Brandon Luamanu was moved to right tackle from his center position to accomadate the absence of starting right tackle Mose Mose. Ian Hidal second string center got the start and according to offensive line coach Richard Tanuvasa, "He got the job done."  The Tigers got some big beef up front, with left tackle #72 Selesi Fifita-Atkins 6'1" 230, left guard #76 Bronson Luis 6'0" 270, center #71 Brandon Luamanu 6'0" 282, #77 Ta'ase Jennings 6' 3" 330, and the smallest of them all #74 Ian Hidal 5' 9" 210 Right tackle Mose Mose is 6' 3" 245 who deserves big credit for the Tigers running game.

    The Tigers were with out starters Edsley Hicks and Kimo Teri.  #7 Edsley Hicks will be up to speed on nvai1.gif (32821 bytes)ext weeks game against the Cougars of Kaiser.   Edsley who suffered a knee injury during summer camp work outs will be healthy against Kaiser.  #30 Kimo Terri who had a concussion in a scrimmage against Mililani has been put on training room status.  His return is unknown?  Slot back coach Kawika Hallums says, "Kimo is an explosive player, he just makes things happen, makes defenders miss."  Other key players on training room status are Semisi Taufa, Willie Talamoa.

    The Tigers will travel to Hawaii Kai to face Kaiser as the OIA regular season starts up.  The Cougars run the spread offense and pass the ball 96% of the time.  The Cougars came off with a big victory against Ka'u of the Big Island.  They will be looking to keep their momentum going when they face the Tigers.
