With thousands of xanga users impersonating real-life celebrities, it's difficult to know if there are any celebrities who blog on xanga. For instance, at the time of this writing, there were 267 users on xanga with the name "Hillary Duff." This is not even counting the numerous people who have inadvertently misspelled her name (i.e. Hilary Duff, Hillery Duff, etc.), but I would like to think nobody can be so airheaded as to not remember how to spell their own name. But when you consider that there are more than 40 million users on xanga, it's very possible that at least one of these users is a celebrity in real life. Indeed, there are a few real-life celebrities who blog or have once blogged on xanga. However, you probably won't be familiar with most of the celebrities listed here unless you live in Asia.
I'm sure that there are more celebrities who are blogging on xanga right now, and I can definitely use some help with this page. If you know of any (real) celebrities on xanga, please let me know by leaving a comment on my latest blog entry. (If you comment on an older entry, I might not know!) Last, but not least, please do not e-mail me or comment me asking for their home address or any other personal information that isn't mentioned here! I simply do not have it, and as far as I know, none of these celebrities have ever visited my xanga before.

Very few of us have heard of Kellyjackie, but those who reside in Hong Kong know all too well about the 19-year old pop singer. Relatively new to the Hong Kong pop scene, Kellyjackie is quickly gaining recognition among fans of pop music. She also happens to be a member of the Royals band, a Hong-Kong based band that consists of six members. Many of her songs can be found on the internet; provided that you are able to comprehend Chinese language sites, you should have little or no problem finding them.

Anyone who habitually listens to rap/r&b music have probably heard of Jin, a Chinese-American rap singer, before. More than 100,000 copies of his first album, The Rest Is History, has been sold as of the time of this writing. His second album, Jin Presents: The Emcee's Propaganda, which was released last October, has not sold nearly as many copies. Prior to shutting down his xanga site last June, Jin was a xanga premium member. His still-standing blogring has nearly 900 members today.

Most of us know Fred Durst as the lead singer of the band Limp Bizkit. Most of us probably don't know that he used to be a prominent blogger on xanga who wrote passionately and emotionally about his experiences in life. When he used to blog on xanga, he frequently monitored his comments and was quick to ban any xanga users who left negative comments for him. Surprisingly, in addition, the rock star had enough time to read and respond to the hoard of comments that were written to him by fans and haters alike. Unfortunately, Fred Durst was the victim of a hacker attack (or at least he says so) in early November 2004 and abandoned his xanga site shortly after changing his password again. Although many of his blog entries have been erased, there are still a few that are intact.

You've probably never heard of Mandy Chiang before, but there's a good chance that you've seen the user "MandyStarz" under the Premium column of Featured Content. This person is Mandy Chiang, a real life celebrity from Hong Kong who currently has a career in singing and acting. So far, she has released two CDs and has starred in one movie. Thought to be one of the better singers of the Emperor Entertainment Group, a very popular group of singers and actors in Hong Kong that is run by a former gang leader, Mandy receives an unbelievable amount of eprops on all her posts and could very well be the most popular user on xanga today. I don't know if she responds to the comments written to her by her fans, but all I know is that her first page of comments is filled up in 5 minutes.
