Nine Girls and a Ghost is one of those movie that is so
targeted at its fans and pre-teens that even teenagers who are not fans of the
movie's stars can become frustrated at the stiff, wooden and bad acting. This is
kind of bad wooden acting is particularly well led by the bad acting expert -
Edison Chen who despite his good looks is like a wooden statue with other people
acting beside, in front and behind him. With the addition of the Cookies who are
definitely no Twins or even have the slight cuteness of Twins, they are more
like Twins - wanna-be, try-hard and can't act for crap. Wong Ka-Ming is a
notable exception as he shines above the rest as least in terms of acting. Well,
until now, all have been criticism, oh ok then let's get to the pros... em... I
find it kind of hard to find any actually. Well the ending is probably pretty
memorable and the song with was play throughout of the movie actually scores
some points for me. Well, what I must say is that Nine Girls and a Ghost
succeeds in expressing to its very limited target audience and to their fans,
and the movie itself is actually OK entertainment, but in terms of acting it is
one of the worst I have seen in quite a while. One last note, Edison if you want
to become the next Andy Lau as you have to be in Infernal Affairs 2, stop being
so wooden, stiff because you are not an action star. Remember you can be cool,
just like Andy Lau, even if you un-stiff yourself. Geez...
