Hollywood Gossips Review:

'If you ever reach the dead end, hope is always around the corner!' is a message that will stay into my mind for quite a long time. Of all the HK singers/actors, Eason Chan despite not having the good looks, is without doubt one of the best actors of the new generation of pop stars. His performance here in If You Care... is spot on and combining with his singing in the final 10 minutes made If You Care... an exceptional par above many of its genre. Also starring the other half of Twins - Gillian Chung (known as Ah Gil) is pretty, cute and mature and almost angel-like. She is very much in the mode of Chow Yun Fat's word of wisdoms in Bulletproof Monk, but she is much cuter and prettier. Although Ah Gil, may not be as lively as Charlene or as immature or child-like as her, she is cute in her own way - her voice, expression, and fashionable clothes and not to mention her cute face. :P Her acting despite being a bit stiff, is actually quite suited for the role.

If You Care...  has enough laughs, jokes, romance and eventually summing up to a brilliant and good ending that touches the heart of its viewers. It is emotional and also giving a sense of change in a person. The film ends with another quote - 'you become silly to have ambition, but you are even more sillier to not have ambitions'. It is this message combining with the one I mention at the start that I will always remember (well, at least for now la :P)

The movie despite aiming primarily at the 15 to 25 age barrier, has quite a strong message to tell. If You Care... is a movie that ends well and have a good steady pace and in turn making If You Care... into a movie that you must care!  (Andrew, 2003)

P.S. 'If you ever reach the dead end, hope is always around the corner!'
