Director Martin Scorsese
has indeed created an epic, casting of Daniel Day-Lewis, Leonardo Di Caprio and
Cameron Diaz is definitely well casted and the beginning is immensely fun, but
what follows is a plot that seems weird and ultimately leaving me wanting more,
sleepy at times, and feeling the film has not fulfilled its potential as the
next Gladiator. But mistaken me, that is not to say this is a bad movie, but
just some-what half-baked. The performance of Oscar Nominee Daniel Day-Lewis is
definitely worst watching and perhaps one of the best screen villains since
Darth Vader. Leonardo Di Caprio and Cameron Diaz also had a terrific chemistry
in giving the film some sex appeal and eye-candies, but they also put on a great
performance. So what was wrong? Well, to me the plot and the slowness of the
film seems to be the major problem and the final fight scene was not very well
shot which left me rather bored and nearly felt asleep. But it was definitely
worth the price of $6 and the stars performance alone would be worth your time.
