Hollywood Gossips Review:
What a movie and what a
interesting history lesson! Not surprisingly though that it was almost banned by
the US, but in fact this is Director Phillip Noyce finest 2 hours of direction
and the casting of Oscar Nominee Michael Caine is just pitch perfect as if he
was born for the role. The character development of all stars was excellent and
the unpredictable acting by the beautiful Do Thi Hai Yen is amazing if only a
bit too stiff. Brendan Fraser is definitely improving as each movie he does and
his acting skills, certainly shown great improvement. The only downfall of this
film is probably the lack of action and especially the final fight scene between
Fraser and Caine’s man should have been a lot longer and more tense, but overall
A Quiet American is a film impossible to dislike especially for anyone
interested in modern history and the romance in between is just the type to not
just please audience, but making you think. I personally enjoy this movie and
find quite a lot of fun watching it.
