Abyssopelagic Zone

                                                     - This layer is also known as "the abyss".

                                                     - It extends from 4,000 meters to 6,000 meters in depth.

                                                     - 3/4 of the ocean bottom lies within this zone

                                                     - Very few animals live here - most cannot survive the pressure.

                                                     - Some animals that have been found here are basket stars (starfish) and tiny squids - both invertebrates.
