Now that everything is set up the only thing left to do is power up all the devices.

  1. Power the router up by plugging its AC adapter in.
  2. Power up any hubs attached to the the router.
  3. Power the broadband modem up.
  4. Press the reset button on the router.
  5. Power all PCs on the network up.

Now that everything is up and running, check all Link indicator lights. The Link lights should be illuminated on the following:

the WAN and LAN side lights on the router
the port on the hub/switch with a computer on it.
the NIC on the PC connected to the router or hub/switch.

For the one port router

If the LAN side Link light does not illuminate, change the switch position on the back of the router. If changing the switch position doesn't work, try another cable.

For both routers

If the WAN side Link light does not illuminate, change the cable used to another type. (e.g. You used a crossover cable so change it to a standard cable and vice versa.)
