Carmageddon TDR 2000 is the next title in the multiple award winning Carmageddon series. But be warned this is not a sequel. Developed with world leading technology, Carmageddon TDR 2000 will pave the way for racing games into the future. Carmageddon re-wrote the rules Carmageddon TDR 2000 will rip up the rulebook and once again set the standards for others to follow.
Since the
beginning of the 21st Century the ultra-rich have come to
dominate the entire planet. Gradually they moved away
from the crime-ridden cesspits that humanity's cities had
become. With their immense wealth they created their own
version of paradise, segregated towns called 'Subates',
policed by their own private forces. Within the Subates
the rich live a life of picture-book tranquillity -
forgetting the heaving masses of downtrodden humanity who
were left with no hope, only despair. For the people left behind to fester and rot in the ghettos, the future was very bleak. The inequality of the situation created growing hatred and anger, inevitably violence erupted. If the violence had been contained within the ghettos the Subatons would never have acted, after all, they hardly considered the heaving masses they had escaped as human. But the violence spilled out. One Subate was overrun, looted and occupied. After years of being able to ignore the rest of humanity the Subatons acted with characteristic, ruthless violence. Not only was the threat a threat to the Subatons very survival but, and probably even more importantly, was immensely expensive to contain. Their plan to protect themselves was, of course, the most cost-effective. The Subatons decided that the best way to stop the mobs was to get rid of them permanently. They ordered their private security forces to launch a tactical nuclear strike at the overwhelmed Subate. Millions of innocents were slaughtered. Many would in later years consider that they were the lucky ones. The survivors, no longer classed as human, were riddled with fallout and radiation poisoning. Madness was endemic with no hope for reprieve and tales soon began to speak of the walking dead. The nuclear strike was not totally successful. In the chaos that followed, sporadically organised gangs sought to exact revenge on the only thing that wasn't already a wreck - the Subates. As a last ditch measure the security forces decided to isolate the ghettos by building huge walls around them, creating city-sized prisons. Once all hope of escape was lost the ghettos became organised by criminal gangs and, of course, corrupt police officers. None of them placed any value on life - their own or anyone's. By the time the walls were finally erected humanity was divided forever or so thought the inhabitants of the ghettos and Subates. The Subates could once again relax into their routine of coffee mornings and peaceful Sunday afternoons, whilst the rest of humanity suffered in a post nuclear hell with no possibility of escape. But is escape impossible? This is the world you will try to escape from or die trying |
