::projects::
Most of the time, I'm knee-deep in projects that are in various stages (idea, concept, just begun, half-way through). As to whether some of these will ever be finished, well, who knows? At least in an ideal world they will be, and I may also be struck with a fierce stroke of inspiration and motivation that not only completes these things but starts a whole other batch. We'll see.
Professional writing
- I've written one section and edited another for State of the Art. Now I get to wait until the final proofreading stage before publication.
- This is non-SR related, but I've sent in a setting (like many others) to WotC's open call for setting submissions. I'm also working on other ways of breaking into the d20 side of the industry.
(Fan) Fiction
- Dirty Yellow Silk, Part 5 - I haven't started this part, but it is on my to-do list. This will wrap up the series of stories I'd done with Marlene, AKA Widow.
- And Adam Slept - Although I've never met Ms. Doda (Hilary Doda, writer of the Head of Vecna column at RPG.net), thanks go to her for the title to this prospective story, as it was borrowed from a phrase in one of her articles. Inspired by some off-hand comments on the Shadowrun Writers' Forum, this story will deal with clones, one's sense of identity, and, ultimately, what it is to be human in the spiritual sense.[begun writing]
- Departure - This is one of those 'works-in-progress'. It's also a teeny bit of a departure from my usual writing, which partly explains the title. As for the other part, I suppose you'll have to find out. Folks who've known me a bit may recognize one of the cast. (Warning: Most of you are adults. Some of you may not be. Either way, inside this little tale is some strong language and strong imagery. I think you can figure out if you should be reading this or not.)
- No title for this yet, but I've also gotten an idea for a story that would wonder: What would Superman be like in Shadowrun? How about Batman? I guarantee you, they won't be quite as we remembered them while we were growing up by the time I'm done with'em. ;)
- Does the thought of Harlequin babysitting scare or titillate you for some reason? It sure does Winterhawk, who believes that I should write this story. What she doesn't know is that I've secretly replaced the standard plot with crack. Let's see if she notices ... (Warning: If I should ever get around to writing this, be prepared for some serious Dickens and legend mangling. Or non-serious ... well, just be warned.)
- And then there's the novel thing. Since it ain't official (yet) or partially or fully written (yet), I'm not posting plots or any other teasers than this: Nyah. ;)
Rules
- Witchcraft 2060 - A kind of pet project that's been simmering on my back burner. The idea is to write up Wicca and Witchcraft completely as a tradition instead of the small blurb in Magic in the Shadows, a la Vodoun in the Awakenings sourcebook.
- Shadowrun/Earthdawn Compendium - Honestly, this is gonna take a looooooong long while if I do all the writing and stuff. So what the hey. You want to send me some tidbits to slap into html (like, who are the IE's? What's a Heavenherd? What's this Jewel of Memory thing Loffy's got now?), go for it. Credit will be given where it's due. Otherwise, this is going to be one of those projects I pick up to toy with now and then when I'm bored and not busy. (Inspiration taken from Talks-With-Cats and Mason's sites. Scout around, you'll see why.)
Games
- Corpus Scienta - A game that I GM on Shadowland; a simple job requiring the retrieval of a scientist specializing in biotechnology and cybertechnology for paranimals, as well as some missing paracritters. Or is it so simple...?
- Double Take - Another game that I GM, this taken from the adventure I wrote for Corporate Punishment.
- Both games are on hold due to leaving Shadowland. Corpus Scienta will be a long time in resuming/restarting; Double Take will resume when I feel like it or have the time, and maybe with a new/different cast. Or maybe I never run either again. Magic HateBall says: "Answer murky."
