Site facelift!

Having been inexplicably seized with the desire to create my own graphics as well as create a new, simpler, and snazzier site design, I labored, tweaked, stole, fussed, fumed and foamed at the mouth for about a week. The end result is pleasing unto mine eye (and unto yours as well, I hope).

In other news...

FASA, dear friends, is no more. The hows and whys are best explained here at the FASA-closing FAQ at Dumpshock. Thanks to Adam Jury and the others at Dumpshock who put that together for us.

But that's not all! Shadowrun has a new home with WizKids Games, Inc., the makers of the Mage Knight miniatures game. More information about this, as well as the direction that SR will take (at least for now) can also be found at the FAQ.

march 30, 2001 - Several things to report. Today I just got confirmation from Wizards of the Coast that they've received my payment for attending Origins this year! And since I've got my plane tickets and hotel room reserved/paid for, this means... see you at Origins!

In related Origins news, you can see the nominations for this year's Origins awards here. As you can see, Adam Jury has been nominated for Best Amateur Game Periodical for his work on The Shadowrun Supplemental. Go Adam!

I'm now something of a regular on #shadowrun on irc.dumpshock.com, so I've added my pics to the #Shadowrun Album. I'm Pistons. :)

Hey y'all, check this out!

may 14,2001 - Lots of new stuff to cover! Voting for Origins Awards... Rob Boyle gives an update on Shadowrun and FanPro... new stuff on the site... and incoherent babbling. I think that's good for a start. :)

Origins Awards: Doesn't matter if you're a member of GAMA or not, now's your chance to vote for the best books, miniatures, cards, resources, and so on this year! As I've mentioned before, Adam Jury of Dumpshock's TSS Productions is up for the Best Amateur Game Periodical award. Help show your support by voting! It's quick and easy, and if you're going to Origins this year, like me, we might get to see him win.

Shadowrun update: Not only is there the regularly updated FASA FAQ at Dumpshock, letting us know the updates in the world of Shadowrun since the closing of FASA, but Rob Boyle has also posted an update on Dumpshock's forums. To encapsulate: His new email for questions and such (keep in mind that he's super-horribly busy these days) is now at info@shadowrunrpg.com, Year of the Comet WILL be out by GenCon, Target: Awakened Lands is next, followed by Threats 2, Shadows of North America, and (next year) Target: Wastelands and Wake of the Comet. Adam Jury has also been picked to be the webmaster for the new Shadowrun website (the English language one at FanPro).

I must be nuts.: Why is that? Because I have started a little something on my site that I hope will grow with more entries - ShadowLibs! Demented? Oh yes. But don't let that keep you from checking out what I have so far, and contributing some of your own. ;)
I've also updated a link or two here and there, and added fellow freelancer Patrick Goodman's new site, Azziewatch, to my links page. And who knows, if I can manage to stay on the ball, I might actually get to finishing one of my stories soon or make progress elsewhere...

It's Con Season!

august 16,2001 - Okay, so it's taken me a lot longer than I'd hoped to post my update, but a few things have happened since I got back from Origins which has delayed me, one of them being Angelfire's inopportune 'update'. That kept me from being able to update on the 23rd of July as I was originally going to do.

First things first: Origins! I had a blast while I was there, and boy do I have a lot to yammer about. Take a look at the page to see the full story. The short version: ummm, there was a lot of stuff to do, see, and buy, and lots of folks to hang out with and schmooze. And if you don't want to read what I've said about Origins, check out what the folks at RPG.net have had to say. GenCon, while I didn't get to go, was also fun from what I hear. I'm shooting for next year as my time to go.

In related news, The Shadowrun Supplemental did not win the Origins award for Best Amateur Game Periodical. That honor went to Alarums & Excursions, a magazine that's been around for over twenty years. However, Adam has asked me to sign on as Assistant Editor, I've accepted, and I'm looking forward to doing my part to improve and contribute to TSS. Maybe we'll win next year! ;)

I've been assisting with the writing of this year's Shadowrun tournament for GenCon (which from all counts turned out well). I'm also developing something that I hope will turn out to be a good (and my first) novel for Shadowrun. Between the two of these activities, I've been a very busy girl. As I'd hoped, however, I was able to finish "Ghosts in Amber and Ivory" after all that. Finally!

The new, official Shadowrun website is also up! Go take a look and see what's cooking for the future of Shadowrun. Also, Year of the Comet is now out; it had been sent off to the printers just prior to Origins. Look for it in any gaming store near you, or get it from Amazon.com. To see my writing credits for it, check my writing page.

Raygun has moved his site, Shadowrun & Firearms, to the Dumpshock Matrix. His link on my resources page has been updated to reflect this. Check it out! This man knows his guns. He also links to spudman's Firearms Creation Guide, which is a very good alternate way from the Cannon Companion to build custom handguns. I myself may or may not move to the Dumpshock Matrix as well. I'll be sure to post something here as soon as I know, however.

Check back in another few weeks for another update!

Deadlines, Redlines and Streamlines (get in line!)

february 1, 2002 - So, uh, yeah.

Actually, the eloquent title there and equally eloquent 'greeting' kinda sums up all the time I've spent between my last update and now. When I wasn't doing something like playing Heroes of Might & Magic, that is. (I play games. I am a gamer. It makes sense that now and then I should slack.)

Lots of craziness going on in the world today, and way too much of it centered on or spewing from America. 'Nuff said. You can read my rants on all that stuff as well as escapist gamer babble, or go read CNN. Your choice.

Speaking of 'babble', I've been doing a lot of that lately. So to speak. Not only is Year of the Comet out as previously reported, but so is Target: Awakened Lands and Threats 2. I'm only published in one of those two. Oh, which one, you ask? Go check my writing page and see. I'm also working on more. Will the terror never end? ;)

The Shadowrun Supplemental: We've Got Boobs. I just wanted to say that. In all seriousness, with minor goofs here and there while settling into the job, I'm enjoying being Assistant Editor. Adam and I are currently reviewing a backlog of articles sent to us and editing the ones we choose, so it'll be a bit before the next issue. But! Do not despair, my lovelies. We shall have an issue 'ere non. I'll even post when. Meanwhile, check out issue #16 which should now be in .html. TSS grooves your wage slave boogaloo.

Aaaaand... website streamlining. I really have no idea if anyone reads these, much less visits my site. But it's the thought that counts, neh? Less javascript, more CSS. Please, please do yourself a favor and get NS6.2 if you've got earlier versions of NS. It's like finding a long lost, um, cousin.

I'm assisting with the writing of this year's Shadowrun tournaments for Origins and GenCon again. Yay! I don't know if I'll be able to make it to Origins or not, due to financial and babysitting questions. Boo! But I will be going to GenCon this year. Yay! I'll take suggestions now as to what I should wear. This is not to say that I'll actually follow any, but suggestions are nice anyway.

General stuff: I'm researching and developing stuff for (my first) novel for Shadowrun, still, and no guarantee it'll ever see the light of day other than mine poor site (maybe). I'm also slowly writing on two stories, with two more at least on the back burner. It's like a frigging Shadowrun hydra. Finish one story, and two more spring up in their place. It'll truly be a Herculean task to take care of them all. (Sssssss, I know, bad bad bad...)

The official Shadowrun website 0wnz you.
