Welcome to Advanced HTML Lesson 3

Welcome to Lesson 3 in our series of Advanced HTML lessons. In this lesson you will learn how to use some of the most commonly used Java Scripts that you see on a lot of Web Sites today.

What Is JavaScript?
JavaScript is Netscape's cross-platform, object-oriented scripting language. Core JavaScript contains a core set of objects, such as Array, Date, and Math, and a core set of language elements such as operators, control structures, and statements.

Client-side JavaScript extends the core language by supplying objects to control a browser (Navigator or another web browser) and its Document Object Model (DOM). For example, client-side extensions allow an application to place elements on an HTML form and respond to user events such as mouse clicks, form input, and page navigation.

Below are the 5 most commonly used STYLE or JavaScripts to beef up your Web Site.

For this lesson, you will need to open your computer's notepad program and a web browsers. When writing HTML code, we will always be writing the actual code into notepad and copying and pasting into an HTML editor.
