Annabeth Morris doesn't particularly want to join the band of Scottish warriors but it was definitely preferable to returning to the grips of Baron Fulford. But it would be so much more comfortable if Laird Robert MacAllen didn't make her feel things that she shouldn't while driving her crazy at the same time.

Robert MacAllen was the perfect Scottish warrior until he met Lady Annabeth. Suddenly his tough side seems to be less apparent. His feelings for her are totally unreasonable and must be just an automatic reaction to her distress. He doesn't want her to stay with them because he doesn't want to soften up but he can't just leave her and when the time comes he will do anything to keep her safe from Baron Fulford.

Megan Morris is very upset at her sister's sudden departure from home and is more than a little shaken by the arrival of two Scottish warriors with news of her whereabouts. She is happy that Annabeth is safe but not that she has been left in the evil clutches of the hateful Baron. When Aaron MacDonald organises an escape the feelings that she holds for him well up uncontrollably but will she ever forgive him for leaving her?

Aaron MacDonald is not impressed with his assignment to go into England and seek out Lady Annabeth's sister and mother, especially when he hears that Lady Megan is 'different'. But Lady Megan enters his heart and no matter how hard he tries he can't get her out again. He is a Scottish warrior and he definitely doesn't need an English wife...does he?
