The Question Is: Do I Need More Ram??

The Answer Is: By All Means, In This Case More Is Better

RAM is an acronym for Random Access Memory. This is where it all happens, all your programs open and run in RAM. Ever notice that the more windows or programs you have open at once, the slower the machine gets?

If you are running Windows 95, I'm sure you have had the machine lock up about 3/4 of the way through a word processing program. Then you lose all that work that hadn't been saved along the way. Or you've tried to open your favorite game only to have Windows tell you it has insufficient resources to open it. It tells you to close some applications and try again, and you don't have anything else open. Then you can use more RAM.

Windows 95 commands a portion of your available RAM for its own uses, therefore just because you have 32mb of RAM doesn't necessarily mean that you have 32mb of RAM available for games or memory intensive programs like word processors.

Upgrading to more RAM produces instant visible results. Doubling your RAM will show a more drastic change in the operation of the machine than doubling your processor speed.
