"Let me ask you to Remember"

cji
4/6/99

Verse 1
********

They say it is the fools
who are the first to forget;
lets try some questions
to see if they are right or wrong.

Verse 2
********

Do you remember your first date?
How about your first kiss?
Does the date stand out or on its
anniversary do you forget it exists?

Verse 3
********

Do you remember your first hug?
How about the first Spring love?
Do you remember snow's first flurry?
Or does your memory get blurry?

Verse 4
********

Was it your mother or father
who held you first - or changed
you to become a young lady
or a certain young man to be?

Verse 5
********

Do you remember your instructions
upon your departure to be coming here?
Or were you in such a hurry the papers
were forgotten and you thought not to worry?

Verse 6
********

Do you remember your first ice cream cone?
Is the name of your first teacher forever known?
Does the town or city in which you were born,
have a place in your memory with you now?

Verse 7
*******

Why is it the fools forget while the romantics
remember all these little things and more?
Where has the time gone from in the spring,
till now in the winter we simply can't recall?
