It is nice to have help
to see what one should see;
for what one can see
and should be able to see
are often two different things.

Thus when another enlightens
your mind to the wisdom
of what you ought to know
it is wiser still to acknowledge
this gift of insight from your friend.

So when you beckon to me
to sit at your feet and listen
know I've come to not hear
but to feel so I can see
the world you need me
to understand to better be.

I've often wondered how far
I should be able to see?
But if I just am looking
not knowing what I'm looking for
does it really matter if I see at all?

allow not with ears to hear
or with my eyes just to see;
let me my heart feel the need
and my soul the heat you reveal.

You see to be able to see
is to be able to understand
what it is you need to know;
and to learn what this is
you have to learn to feel
the quiet whisperings
of the spirit in your
heart allowed to grow.
