"Sometimes Father"

C.J. Ingerson
3/4/99

Verse 1
********

When I awake in the night
worried sick about my child
I wonder if it is often right
to question was I too mild?

Verse 2
********

We loved and caressed with hugs
read the scriptures and had prayer
in family home evening we played on the rugs
little games that really showed we cared.

Verse 3
********

Yet still my youngest child strayed
and now I need encouragement Father
to let this child know how I cared
I hope asking for this is not a bother?

Verse 4
********

I know in this mortal probation it's listed
and you wouldn't have us learn something
unless it has additional help to be assisted
so what is it I'm missing to this child bring?

Verse 5
********

Special blessing upon this child were given
to be part of many and wondrous gifts
yet it seems the blessings have driven
my child as wood on the wave away drifts.

Verse 6
********

Please help me to have a little spark
to again ignite this gentle spirit to thee
for it is not my needs to be a filled a part
it is for today this child's heart to again see.

Verse 7
*******

Thank you Heavenly Father for this time
you've taken to be with me this way
I'll continue to love this child of mine
until there are no more tomorrow's today.
