"Born to be Held"

"Hi! I'm the new stranger
in your life just now
and I don't come
with can Instructions;
only loose ends
that open and close.
But on thing
you need to know
I was born to hold."

"Now along that line
I like hugs, snugs,
squeezes, kisses, snuggles;
but don't ever forget
even though I'm
the new stranger in town;
I WAS BORN TO BE LOVED!"

We come tasks assigned
to do while here
but it seems there
is always a tomorrow.

 Verse 2
********

So we confuse ourselves
and our tasks assigned
with mans time and space
and our duty to God.

Verse 3

For what is tomorrow
if today is the day
our tasks assigned
were to be completed, done?

 Verse 4
********

The diversions of life
come not from above
but fro another source
that is relentless without love.

What value is placed
on virtues I've learned
to be moral in life
not just in-between
the struggles of birth
and death in mortality.

But all my life
what price do I pay
to honor covenants
I've made with
my Father above.

About the commitment of love
when my emotions
are tempted and my morals
are questioned by some.

What is the value of me
that so many would desire
to take what you
have forever given me to be?

My life was thought
to be full
with warmth and love
and I was told
my life would change
that no longer
could I do
what I had done.

Devastated I left
to start a new
a life of fullness.

I'm never alone
for the definition
I'd given fullness
was not Father's.

And now my life
revel in the beauty
of the sunsets found
in Once Upon a Time.

When will you
stop loving me?

The question stunned
me first and then
I looked deeply
into this young
child's eyes.

Verse 3

Till forever
and if that isn't
long enough
ever longer
if you want.

"How long is forever?"

Verse 1

It is as if there
was never a beginning
and there will
never ever be
an ending.

 Verse 2
********

Thus with tears
in my child's eyes
I get this tremendous
hug and kiss
as is whispered,
"I'll love you too,
just as long as forever."
