Verse 1

The scriptures tell us many things;
the spirit whispers others;
why would father bring us
up on an Earth like this
and then take us someplace
where the things
of spiritual beauty
would be lost?

Verse 2

We've grown to know
and love of flowers,
the love of thoughts,
pondered now and forever;
and of high mountains,
also of desolate plains,
valleys rich with grass
and lakes too many
too count alone.
|
Verse 3

Why with this to know
in our present state
would and exalted
estate be different?
|
Verse 4
********
Yes we know
of others in cities
with shame and filth;
but who knows
what is seen
beyond the depth
of their eyes
and in their minds?
|
Verse 5
********
So when forward I look
to the bar of judgment
I'll know some who
will be worthy to pass
and know that they
will not be denied
their mountains
or wandering paths.
|
Verse 6
********
Thus the serenity
of my life is to give
this hope to all
that they might live
to see the wonders
of not just this world
but the wonders of God.
