The Watchung Arts Center will present a chamber music concert as part of the Chamber Music in the Hills series, featuring the Somerset String Quartet with guest cellist Alan Harris to be held on Sunday, October 20, 2002 at 3 p.m.  The program will feature Franz Schubert's String Trio No.1, Mozart's String Quartet in Bb Major, K589 and Franz Schubert's String Quintet in C Major, D956.  A reception catered by "What's in the Ice Box?" will follow the concert.  Tickets are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door.

The Somerset String Quartet comprised of area artists Maxim Moston, violin, Rebecca Harris Lee, violin, Ruth Kahn Siderman, viola, and Jennifer Green, cello.  Joining the quartet for the Schubert's String Quintet in C Major will be guest cellist, Alan Harris.  Alan Harris is an eminent chamber musician, soloist, and pedagogue.  He is currently the head of the string department at the Eastman School of Music.  Mr. Harris was also on the faculty of the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Music. Russian-born violinist Maxim Moston , a graduate of the Cleveland Institute, is an active chamber musician throughout the New York metropolitan area. Violinist, Rebecca Harris Lee has been proclaimed by the Washington Post, "a first rate performer".  Ms. Lee has recorded for RCA and is a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory.  Ms Lee is the daughter of guest cellist Alan Harris. Violist, Ruth Kahn Siderman is a Watchung resident and founder of Chamber Music in the Hills.  Ms. Siderman performs regularly with the New York City Ballet and is a graduate of The Juilliard School.  Ms. Siderman made her debut in Carnegie's Recital Hall as the winner of the 1992 Artist International Chamber Music Award.  Cellist, Jennifer Green made her solo debut at Carnegie's Recital Hall and is an avid soloist and chamber musician.  Ms. Green is a graduate of Cincinnati Conservatory and now is on the faculty of the Manhattan School of Music.
