The Big Band & Swing years of the 30’s and 40’s were America’s Golden Age of live entertainment, providing live dance music to every corner of the Nation.  Jukeboxes in every malt shop and joint belted out Big Band “Killer Dillers.”  Big Bands were the heart and soul of the fantastic swing era!  They thrilled millions ….

Now once again, you have an opportunity to dance or listen to the music of a live full 17-piece band replicating the Big Band era, accompanied by Vocalist Nancy Nelson.  The Date is Thursday, December 6 and the music begins at 8PM.  Tickets for "Swing The Night Away" are priced at only $15 and should be purchased in advance by sending a check to the Watchung Arts Center, 18 Stirling Road, Watchung, NJ 07069.  Tickets will be sent by return mail.  Phone inquires can be made by calling (908) 753-0190.

The ever-popular Nancy Nelson is a remarkable singer who began listening to jazz and singing with local musicians in the 60’s.  Nancy brings a special spark to the music of a Big Band and has sung with such greats as: Gene Krupa, Doc Cheatham, Dick Wellstood, Hank Jones, Ruby Braff and Bobby Rosengarten.

King’s Road Band is now in its’ 15th year, playing in Central New Jersey.  Comprised of 17 of the area’s best professional musicians, King’s Road Band plays a broad variety of music from the big band era including Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Harry James, Artie Shaw and more.   The combined talents of King’s Road Band and Nancy Nelson, are guaranteed to make you “Swing the Night Away”!
