A folk sound to
make you laugh and sing
Storyteller and musician Mike Agranoff
Mike Agranoffs first love is making music, whether with friends,at a festival or on stage and this love is conveyed. While weaving stories and monologues into his introductions, he offers shrewd commentary and keen observations. Mike is equally at home with traditional ballads or contemporary song. He will play a dance tune on the concertina or a Souza march on the guitar. Heart-wrenching stories or quirky parodies arranged and played superbly blend with his rich baritone. You will often find yourself singing along (even to songs youve never heard before) or finding new meaning in those you have.
An outstanding fingerstyle guitar player with a range of idioms from ancient harp tunes to obscure Tin-Pan-Alley compositions. Mike plays an array of instruments including guitar, banjo, harmonica, and recorder. With vocal and facial expression and his unique ability to convey a message, his listeners are drawn into the spirit of Mike Agranoff. Mike Agranoff will be featured in the Folk Series at the Watchung Arts Center on Saturday, June 13 at 8pm for only $10. Mikes personal style will penetrate your soul.
