Double Trouble
Sing about Modern Life
What is Double Trouble? Its a duo singing contemporary music about modern life with a spirit of troubadours. Jean Franworth sings and plays Celtic harp and 12-string guitar. She includes Renaissance, traditional Celtic music, vintage blues, as well as songs she has written. Evy Mayer sings and plays ukulele, guitar, dumbeck and other percussion instruments. Evy is also a singer/song writer of international acclaim with a specialty in childrens songs.
These two performers are delightful and will have their audience joining in in no time. Their vocal and emotional range, their interpretations, and their instrumentals create stirring harmonies. From the most serious romantic ballad to the lightest childrens song, Evy and Jean will bring tears to your eyes and then make you laugh out loud.
Double Trouble currently has three recordings out and are in demand for their fine harmonies. Their first release from 1990 "Double Trouble- Live" started Evy and Jean on their move into the limelight, although by then they had perfected their compatibility. "Born to Shop" released in 1993 concentrated on their musicianship, "Soup to Nuts" released in 1996 showcases the talents of both performers vocally whiles emphasizing their original work and interpretations.
Double Trouble has an extensive listenership covering not only the United States but also Canada. Radio stations all over the Northeast have featured these two wonderful ladies singing, telling stories and explaining their work and their love of music.
A live performance is a must to experience this duo. They will be at the Watchung Arts Center on Saturday, July 11th at 8pm for a ticket price of only $10. Reservations are recommended and will be honored by calling (908) 753-0190. This is a performance that sets the audience singing and swaying no matter what age.
