NOT JUST BLUEGRASS!
Silk City with Barry Mitterhoff
brings a Unique Sound to the Watchung Arts Center
A youthful energy mix with a varied and exciting manner thats what Silk City will bring to the intimate Gallery of the Watchung Arts Center on Saturday, March 6, 1999. Tickets are only $10 for the 8pm concert, which includes light refreshments.
Silk City consists of three skilled musicians blending a variety of styles, including hard-driving bluegrass, wide-ranging ethnic music and those age old favorites. Barry Mitterhoffs musical talents on the mandolin are technically masterful. His tastefully crafted solos and clean melodic statements speak for themselves. Danny Weiss is a singer and guitar picker spicing the music with his licks. And finally Larry Cohen brings up the low end with his monster bass, drawing upon his classical, jazz and rock background.
Reservations are suggested for good seats. A call to (908) 753-0190 will hold the tickets until the performance. Concerts at the non-profit Watchung Arts Center draw hundreds of listeners each month to their Gallery. Exceptional Art exhibits, new each month, may be explored during intermission. The Center also offers a growing class program as well as a photo forum, theater classes and more. A membership for you and your family opens the creative mind, introduces you to a large support group who shares your interests and sustains the center, as well as allowing for special discounts on events.
