Comedy is one of those fragile performances that requires the right mood, setting and time. Last week’s topical humor is already dated, and the right jokes for senior citizens are wasted on the young. The Comedy Night series at the Watchung Arts Center has managed to build a following in its convenient suburban location by drawing from a mix of the best urban comedy club stand-ups. Each show features new faces and fresh material.

The Watchung Arts Center presents the Comedy Series on the third Saturday of every month. On April 17th at 8pm, host, Phil Hochman, will be presenting John McMinamon. The resident MC, Mike King, headliner, and Steve Marshall as feature. The seating is in an intimate art gallery, with limited capacity. Reservations may be best made by phone.
