Fall Into Art at the WAC

Let your child fall into art this Fall at the WAC!

The WAC will be offering two children’s art classes this fall starting on October 3^rd and running through December 13^th, (excluding the Thanksgiving Day vacation week). The classes will now include 10 sessions, instead of the usual eight, at no additional cost! A real bargain! The classes that will be taught are drawing and acrylic painting. Both classes are for elementary and middle school students ages 6 to 12.

Acrylic painting classes will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 4:15 pm to 5:45 pm. The students will learn the traditional method of acrylic painting on canvas boards. The properties of color will again be emphasized. The students will be able to create paintings both still lifes as well as their own imaginations. The cost is $95 peer student and, again, includes all materials required for the class.

Drawing classes will be held on Thursday afternoons from 4:15 pm to 5:45 pm. These classes will offer students an introduction to outlining. Including shading. Proper use of color will also be taught. The students will work with pencil, charcoal, India ink, pastels and watercolors. The students will be able to create portraits, landscapes and still lifes. The cost is $98 per student and includes all necessary materials for the classes.

Parents are also reminded that there will be a $10 non-member registration fee per student for each class for those who are not yet Watchung Arts Center members. ACRYLIC PAINTING, ages 6 to 12 $98 Wednesdays 4:15-5:45
Learn the traditional method of painting using acrylics on canvas
boards. Paintings are created from stilllifes or the imagination. Emphasis
on the properties of colors.

DRAWING, ages 6 to 12 $95 Thursdays 4:15-5:45
Students are introduced to the basics of drawing such as outlining, shading
and the proper use of color as they learn how to work with pencil, charcoal, India Ink, watercolors and pastels.
