ALL  ROSIE!
A Tribute To Rosemary Clooney
Vocalist Deborah Sills
At the Piano, David Weisberg

CONCERT:
Friday, Sept 20, 2002
8pm

$12

Deborah Sills has performed many cabaret shows in New York and New Jersey celebrating the music of three decades; the thirties, forties and fifties.  She attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and has studied the Great American Songs since childhood.  Her numerous influences include Billie Holiday and Tony Bennett, however, she holds a particular love and respect for the works of Rosemary Clooney.  Ms. Sills met and spoke with the legend, after one of her Nelson Riddle collaborations at Carnegie Hall, and promised her she would always perform her music, and at this received a warm hug.  Ms. Sills feels it now her mission to tribute Rosemary Clooney since her passing in June 2002.  Her repertoire for the evening will include the songs closest and dearest to Clooney as well as her most known achievements.  This will be Ms. Sills’ forth engagement at the Watchung Arts Center, although this occasion is honoring her mentor and inspiration “Girl Singer” (e.g. Girl Singer, Rosemary Clooney an Autobiography).

David Weisberg studied piano under the tutelage of Kenny Barron of the legendary Dizzy Gillespie Band.  In addition to his private and public engagements he has performed jazz and classical works as well as a tribute to Frank Sinatra with the New Jersey Pops Orchestra.  Mr. Weisberg is a Professor of music theory and composition at William Paterson University.  Ms. Sills is honored to share the stage with David Weisberg.

The Watchung Arts Center is located “on the circle” in Watchung, easily reached from Route 22 (Plainfield overpass) or Interstate 78 (exit 40).  There is ample free parking adjacent to the building, or around the corner at Best Lake.
