On Friday, July 16th at 8pm come hear the voice of perfection. Roz Corral will be swinging at the Watchung Arts Center for their Summer Diva Series. Not many vocalists can produce such melodic lines with a swing and distinctive style of their own like Roz. Her voice is so smooth, the words well articulated and put it together a somber and heartfelt love of jazz. This is a style Ms. Corral has perfected over the years. Her voice will carry you away and even bring a tear to your eye as she projects herself in the ballads and swings along with the band.

Joining Ms. Corral on piano will be Bruce Barth. George Kanzler of the Star-Ledger, said that (Barth)"is recognized by his peers as one of the top pianists of his generation." So did the New York Times Magazine when he was named as one of the top pianists "about to break out" in a poll of his peers.

Mr. Barth is best known for his four year stint as pianist with the Terence Blanchard Quintet and appears on several of his albums and film soundtracks, including Malcom X. His first two albums were chosen by the New York Times as one of the Top 10 jazz albums of the year, and his compositions and arrangements have been recorded by many top-name jazz artists.

Mr. Barth and Ms. Corral have been working together for the past 10 years and Ms. Corral will be performing several of his distinctive arrangements of standards such as "Let’s Face the Music and Dance" and "With a Song in My Heart," among others.

Rounding out the trio will be young bassist, Chris Berger who in only four years in New York City, has distinguished himself as an in-demand bassist. Originally from Dayton Ohio, Berger has toured and recorded with Maynard Ferguson, Herb Ellis and James Williams, and has worked with Joe Lovano and Junior Mance and Susannah McCorkle.
