The Watchung Arts Center begins its 1999 Blues Series with the talents of Mike Esposito | Concert: Friday, February 12th at 8pm |
Our Series Coordinators, always looking for ways of bring the community the best in music has a new idea for a Blues Series. We discovered that those of you who love bluegrass were not necessarily the same audience that enjoys the folk groups, so were going to try to bring you the Best of Blues. Our Blues Series will be run by Bob Yahn who, if you dont know runs a club out of New Brunswick, and is a big fan of acoustic blues. He has many connections, lots of experience and knows whats good. We wish Bob luck with the Series and hope the community will enjoy his efforts.
To open the 1999 Series, on Friday, February 12th at 8pm Bob has booked the talents of Mike Esposito, one of the finest players around. The ticket price will be $10 and that includes light refreshments during our intermission.
Mike Esposito began performing in the late 60's, playing and singing in various rock bands. One night you might see him playing base in a rock band, another night he is leading a blue grass and blues band with his dobro guitar, and yet another night he is doing renditions of the original country and delta blues on his national steel guitar.
You might have seen him on nationwide television doing numerous recordings and playing everything from base to waltzes on the dobro guitar. Mike has toured Italy, performed at Lincoln Center, and has won an international dobro contest. He has performed extensively throughout the east and is considered unique with dobro and steel guitar. Dont miss our first of the Series and share your love of that great acoustic sound in our gallery. You will feel like youve brought Mike into your home and family.
In March, the group Spring Fever will be strumming and humming into your hearts (with our own Board Member, Sandy Joren).
