To All Artists interested in Showing at the Watchung Arts Center

We have 2 galleries available for 3-4 person shows. Our upstairs gallery is 30x40 and our downstairs gallery (which we reserve for solo shows) is 19x15.

The curators have a theme or title to the show which either has to do with subject, technique or media. If interested please call Bruce in the office (908) 753-0190 and we will put your name on our artist mailing list. We book approximately a year in advance. All work is for sale with a 25% commission donation towards the Arts Center. Sorry we have no insurance.

We also have Jazz, Diva and Folk music, Comedy Shows, a Photo Forum, Life Drawing class and a variety of educational programs within our gallery space. This provides an audience of over 400 a month coming in and seeing the works on display.

Send: slides, resume and any support material to Watchung Arts Center,18 Stirling Road, Watchung NJ 07060 attention Jim Fuess. If we are interested in your work, we will keep 3 slides and the resume for our records otherwise we will return slides. You may want us to put your slides into our slide file which is used not only by our curators but by those from all over NJ.

We also show all mediums including a very prestigious photography show each year. We do not show sculpture in the upper gallery because we have to keep the floor clear for our musical entertainment but we do show sculpture and crafts in the front lobby.

Members' show in this year runs from August 1-September 14th and gives our membership a chance to sell their work and put it on display, We have a members' wall where you can display a work when you join and renew your membership

Our calendar of art shows changes every month often displaying at least 4 artists. We have a reception each month where the public can come and speak to the artists and have light refreshments.

For photographers we offer The New Jersey Photography Forum's who hold monthly meetings and 6 workshops a year.

Becoming a member: You will also be supporting one of the best art centers in the state. We are supported by revenues from performances, memberships, and donations.
