Froggy Facts II

More "Froggy" Facts to ponder here, in this second edition!

Time for the big MOLT!

Clicking the picture will open another Website showing the molting process, when a frog must shed its skin. Videos too!

Making the high jump!

Click the picture for some amazing photos of some "airborne" froggage!

A very "froggy" fight!

This is a territorial dispute between two males (Rana c. melanota)! This little "rough and tumble" venture in itself is usually quite harmless..... but the sudden late-night burst of activity may well attract the attention of a nearby Raccoon, which may pause long enough to snatch a quick frog dinner! (Photos submitted by Georges Huard).

"What goes around comes around"!

This N. Leopard frog is shown here eating a lizard (the head, tail, foot, and dewlap are visible in its mouth), and this frog in turn was eaten by a Red-Shouldered hawk!

Here's my 2013 "wish list" of species to hopefully add to Fabulous Froggage! The only factor that has stopped me from looking so far are the outrageous gas prices! I can't afford any "extra" trips at $3 per gallon! Once things improve out there...... I'll hopefully be adding these! :-)
Hyla c. crucifer (Species FOUND!)
Hyla andersonii (Habitat discovered! Hopefully coming soon!)
Rana virgatipes (Habitat discovered! Hopefully coming soon!)
Rana utricularia
Bufo marinus
...... and Rana okaloosae??

More cool "froggy" stuff will be coming to this page as it happens!

(The links above will take you to external Websites apart from my own, and I cannot vouch for their content! Each will open in a separate window).
