RAY CUMMINGS

Ray Cummings (Raymond King Cummings, 1887-1957) was rated one of the "founding fathers of the science fiction pulp genre". Cummings worked with Thomas Edison as a personal assistant and technical writer from 1914 to 1919. His most highly regarded work was the novel The Girl in the Golden Atom published in 1922. His career resulted in some 750 novels and short stories, using also the pen names Ray King, Gabrielle Cummings, and Gabriel Wilson.

THE MAN WHO MASTERED TIME

What will civilization be like 20,000 years from now? Were it not for the important discovery of Loto Rogers and his father that time, like space, may be traversed, we should still remain in ignorance of the future. Loto succeeded in constructing a machine with which to navigate the future and then he darted two hundred centuries forward in time.

War, with deadly new weapons, unknown to this day and age, confronted Loto shortly after his arrival. Because of his scientific knowledge he soon took a leading part in this combat of hate and greed and lust, making his new life one fraught with constant danger.

Loto soon lerned that he was living in a time when the romantic and mysterious were commonplace; a time of the unbelievable, often the impossible. He had stepped into a world in which almost anything could happen.

And now, all the glamour, all the magic, all the sinister undercurrents of that future world, are revealed in this fast moving, fascinating story of Loto's adventurous life in a civilization 20,000 years from the present.

THE SHADOW GIRL
TRIPLE TROUBLE FROM THE TOWER OF TIME

That brand-new experimental television set could not bring in any of the normal channels. What its screen showed was a strange tower, moving through changing time, piloted by a girl of exquisite beauty. Suddenly the time tower came to a halt in Central Park-right in 1962.

Ed Williams and Alan Tremont, who had built the set, knew then that they must meet that girl, rescue her from the evil genius who pursued her, and join their destinies with that of the time-traveling building.

Flashing through uncharted ages, witnessing the panorama of the world's rise and fall, Tremont and Williams found that only they, the tower, and the girl stood between a tyrant's evil ambitions and the destruction of the greatest city the world had ever known.

BRIGANDS OF THE MOON
Gregg Haljan was aware that there was a certain danger in having the giant spaceship Planetara stop off at the moon to pick up Grantline's special cargo of moon ore. For that rare metal-invaluable in keeping Earth's technology running-was the target of many greedy eyes. But nevertheless he hadn't figured on the special twist the clever Martian brigands would use. So when he found both the ship and himself suddenly in their hands, he knew that there was only one way in which he could hope to save that cargo and his own secret-that would be by turning space-pirate himself and paying the BRIGANDS OF THE MOON back in their own interplanetary coin.

WANDL THE INVADER
A CLASSIC NOVEL OF INTERPLANETARY WARFARE

There were nine major planets in the Solar System and it was within their boundaries that man first set up interplanetary commerce and began trading with the ancient Martian civilization. And then they discovered a tenth planet—a maverick!

This tenth world, if it had an orbit, had a strange one, for it was heading inwards from interstellar space, heading close to the Earth-Mars spaceways, upsetting astronautic calculations and raising turmoil on the two inhabited worlds.

But even so none suspected then just how much trouble this new world would make. For it was WANDL THE INVADER and it was no barren planetoid. It was a manned world, manned by minds and monsters and traveling into our system with a purpose beyond that of astronomical accident!

It’s a terrific novel from the classic days of great science-fiction adventure.
