Headshots Count:

The best way to be the best….maybe:

If you see an enemy standing still, looking and shooting in a different direction to you, power up your sniper rifle and get a head shot for an instant kill. At least that's the theory, but lag often means it'll be 2 or 3 shots. Works well on the bridge on Danger Canyon. Pistols are a real headache too.

Headshots Hurt:

If you're standing still sniping someone, be aware that there might be someone else shooting you. Perhaps with a one shot kill from a sniper rifle. Jumping around makes you harder to hit, and less likely to be hit in the head. Try it close range too.

Know the level:

Find out where the best weapons are in the level, and where the most action takes place to rack up the highest amount of kills….or deaths. Try the bridges on Danger Canyon , the teleports on Ice Fields, or just anywhere in Blood Gulch.

Be a Taxi:

By picking someone up in your warthog, you can cause some pain when you see a lone traveller in your path. It's a great way to be protected, as both the machine gun and rocket launcher kill pretty quickly. Plus chicks really dig guys in fast cars…

Plasma Grenades :

Plasma grenades are great against the covenant, but pretty crap against people as they never really seem to stick. By lobbing one onto a warthog (it's far easier) you can have them hurt, flipped out of there car, and a bit pissed off. Works well when they're driving off with your flag.

Use Your Radar:

Use the radar to sense movement of cars, team mates and sometimes enemies. Then be ready for them. Alternatively, stand still and people won't know you're there. Until they turn the corner and see you, but then they're already dead.

Drop the Flag:

Under attack when you have the flag in a CTF? Press whatever button throws a grenade to lob the flag and then be able to shoot. Make sure you don't throw it into the enemy though, and bear in mind it may return itself after a time limit. You can pass it to a team buddy too, though realisically that would probably never happen.

Check Teleports:

On levels such as Blood Gulch and Ice Fields, check what's the other side of the teleport before going through. It'd be tragic to end up with only a plasma pistol in the middle of a big fight.
