"...if you're looking for a good party band this holiday season, Jelly Hollywood will fit the bill...."

Music Style: Top 40, wedding and party band, all cover styles including Motown, Stevie Wonder, Beatles, Spin Doctors, Bonnie Raitt, Van Morrison, etc.

Background: I went for an audition after being called by my former boss Dave Solo (the bandleader) with the rest of the band and joined on the spot.  We played a fun spectrum of songs clearly aimed at the wedding/party crowd.  Lisa held down vocals, Dave sang backup (playing his 12 string Rickenbacker guitar), I played bass and Frank Heffornon held down the drums.  Telecaster veteran Dave Budzinski played lead guitar.  Based out of Chelsea, Michigan we played parties in the Ann Arbor area and corporate functions

That's me in the photo at right holding down the bass behind Lisa's singing at a corporate function for Domino's Pizza at their world headquarters.

I had fun with this band and learned alot about playing cover songs.   In 1994 Dave Solo decided to stop playing music for a while, which led to the band's end.  We did get together for a jam session or two after that, but the band's days as a gigging group were over.

Where are they now? I see Dave occasionally; I've lost touch with Frank and Lisa.  Guitarist Dave Budzinski and I would play together in his band 6 years later, the Uptown Playboys.
