        EPISODE GUIDE

               Episode # 32 - Keith's Machinations (Pt. 2)

The semi final match between Joey and Bandit Keith continues and Joey has just managed to take control of the duel.  It's still close though.  Only 150 life points separate the duelists.  Joey has Gerusies and Axe Raider left on the field.  Pegasus says the match is leaning towards Joey but Keith has better cards and more experience.  He decides to satisfy his curiosity by using his Millennium Eye to look into both of their minds to find out their strategies.  In Joey's mind, Pegasus sees his circle of friends that back him.  He sees Joey's sister and realizes that even if they are apart, the care about each other and are not alone.  Pegasus comments that Keith is full of revengeful rage while Joey is full of hope and trust.  Pegasus wonder's who will see victory.

Keith laughs at Joey and tells him the duel is just starting.  He plays a trap card and Barrel Dragon, his favorite card, and a powerful one too at 2600 attack points and 2200 defense points.  The dragon has three cannons and in each cannon are three bullets and three blanks.  He has a 50% chance of hitting him with each of his three guns.  The barrels start to spin and two bullets fire, destroying both of Joey's monsters.  Joey's life points fall to 850.  Yugi says that with that monster Bandit Keith can destroy up to three monsters each turn so there is not way for Joey to defend himself.  Joey though is still calm and says he will play a gamble for a gamble and sends out Time Wizard and Baby Dragon.  If the time roulette lands on the time warp, the Baby Dragon will grow stronger and the Barrel Dragon will rust until it is unusable.  It lands on a time warp and a millennium passes on the field.  The Barrel Dragon has rusted to 1800/1600, low enough for Joey's Thousand Dragon to destroy it.

Joey attacks a destroys the Barrel Dragon but Keith doesn't care.  He plays his trap card, Time Machine which brings back the Barrel Dragon in full health.  All three cannons shoot destroying the Thousand Dragon taking Joey's LP to 650.  Keith challenges Joey to lay down more monsters for him to destroy because he has nothing that can beat his Barrel Dragon.  Joey does and Bandit Keith easily destroys it.  He also plays Slot Machine in attack mode while Joey cannot attack.  Joey notices that he could play his Red Eyes to defeat the Slot Machine but it would be destroyed the next turn.  He can't sacrifice a powerful monster like that.  Yugi says that Joey can find away if he believes in the Heart of the Cards.

Joey plays a trap card and sends Red Eyes out in attack mode before ending his turn.  Keith laughs saying the best card in Joey's deck isn't close to being enough to defeat the Barrel Dragon.  As he attacks, Joey plays his Copycat card which copies a card that Bandit Keith has already played.  He chooses Metal Force and equips it to Red Eyes making it Red Eyes Black Metal Dragon (2800/2400).  It destroys the Barrel Dragon for good.  Keith switches his Slot Machine to defense mode and plays Seven Completed to raise its defense points to 3000.  Joey's life points are reduced to 450 and Keith's stays at 900.  Bandit Keith explains that he can play up to three 7 Completed on his Slot Machine.  Keith draws his next card sweating to himself that he will teach Joey a lesson.  He takes a 7 Completed card from his wristband a plays it making his Slot Machine at 2700/3000.  Pegasus noticed that Keith had cheated but doesn't say anything.  One more 7 Completed card and Joey won't be able to stop it.  Keith plays Sphere Bomb and it attaches itself to the Red Eyes Black Metal Dragon.  It has 100 more attack points than the dragon and will be able to destroy it.    The bomb will explode on Joey's next turn.

As Joey's turn begins the bomb is about to explode and Joey quickly plays a card.  The bomb goes off but as the smoke clears, the Red Eyes Black Metal Dragon is standing at 3400 attack points.  Joey had played Dragon nails which saved him.  Keith is now at 400 LP and Joey ends his turn.  Keith cheats again and uses his last 7 Completed card to power up his Slot Machine to 3400/3000.  Both monsters are at a stand still.  Their life points are about equal too.  Joey notices he has Swords and Shields in his hand but he won't be able to use it because his defense points are lower than Keith's.  He draws a card and lays it in the Magic/Trap zone.  Keith says the duel is over now and plays Bandit.  Bandit allows him to look at Joey's hand an use one of the cards.  He picks Swords and Shields changing the Slot Machine to 3000/3400 and the Red Eyes to 2400/3400.  Keith attacks, laughing madly.  Joey has activated the card he set earlier.  The Red Eyes is destroyed anyway and Keith continues to laugh.  Suddenly he stops.  Joey's Graverobber card is holding Keith's used Time Machine.  It revives Red Eyes and it stand on the field.  From the last round, the dragon wasn't under the magic of Swords and Shields.  It is stronger than Slot Machine and Keith knows it.  Joey attacks and Keith has lost.  Pegasus smiles and says the victory has smiled upon hope.

Croquet announces Joey as the official winner and his friends cheer for him.  Keith objects and says that Joey had cheated on the duel.  He says that the card Joey showed at the beginning wasn't his.  Joey asked how he knew and Keith fell silent.  Pegasus answered for him.  He had stolen the card from Joey last night.  Pegasus says he doesn't care where the card came from as long as they had one.  He says the real problem is Bandit Keith cheated during the duel.  He explains how Keith had pulled 7 Completed cards from his wristband and pretended he drew them.  Pegasus says he must leave at once and two guards begin to drag Bandit Keith away.  Pegasus begins to applaud Joey for a job well done when Keith comes running back.  He threatens Pegasus demanding the prize money or else he will kill him.  Pegasus just smiles and steps on a small square and Keith falls through a trap door that dumps him in the ocean outside.  Croquet announces that after a short break, the final match between Joey and Yugi will start.  This will be a great duel!

Episode Rating (1-10) 7.26  The duel was good excellent even though Joey was up against a cheater.  He did remarkably well.  We still knew Joey was going to win so that he can have his face off with Yugi.  The part that saved this episode was Bandit Keith's cheating and yup, more character development.  Other wise it would have been a filler episode and we don't want that do we?
