ENG3C Poetry

This is our poetry part of our Summative Assignment

1. Concrete A concrete poem does not have to rhyme, the words are displayed as a picture, instead of a poetic form.

2. Found Poetry Found poetry will not originate as poetry, the poet will put his words and sentences in poetic form, but does not have to rhyme.

3. Free Verse Poetry A free verse poem does not have to rhyme, follow a poetic form or have a rhythm.

4. Ballad Poetry A ballad poem can be written as a song or it can be recited as telling a story that has happened in the past.

5. Haiku Poetry A haiku poem can have only three lines which consist of five syllables on the first line, seven on the second and five on the last, this poem does not have to rhyme.

6. Parallel Poetry Parallel poetry does not have to rhyme, you need to choose one word that appeals to you and have only one theme, and each of the lines describe a new aspect of the subject.

7. Lyric Poetry Lyric poetry is a poem that is put into a song, the poet writes about his/her happiness and emotions on what ever it is he/she would like.

8. Kinetic Poetry Kinetic poetry expresses the words in motion form. The presentation must give the readers the sound, the shape and the meaning that the picture makes. The picture of the poem determines how the poem should be read.

9. Eulogy Poem A eulogy is a type of poetic form, when you wish to remember someone who past away, you usually write a eulogy for the funeral and it is read in honour of who is gone.

10. Monologue A monologue is a type of poetry written as a speech that is given by an actor or an actress. It may by funny, serious, long or short, and be written on any subject.
