Project Morningstar

I could write an awesome speak here, but lets face it - nobody cares. So let me just do a quick summarize about Project Morningstar.

First of all why Morningstar? Well that one is quite simple. Just as most others do when wiring PCs in a LAN you pick a theme for all the PC names. In my LAN the devices are named: Hornet, Scimitor, Rapier, Ferret, Wraith, Morningstar and Jalthi. In case you wonder as to how these are connected: The answer is Wing Commander. So this is project Morningstar.

Next a word on theme - I just love dragons. Also I am a dragon according to chinese horoscope, so it is kinda double fitting to pick this theme for my first modded system. And what dragon would one pick? Of course a fire dragon - which means the system will have a considerable part of it colored in red.

Finally aim of the project. Despite all art the Morningstar is foremost a work PC. If you spend most of your life in front of that thing you will understand that the plain boring industrial gray isn't appealing however and that any piece of style is good. So rule number one was functionality. Whatever I do function is king. As a second aim I was going for an industrial look. Kinda high tech, all classy and shiny, however neither natural/organic nor futuristic. So the system was to get a bit of a retro touch. Finally all of the mods are to be fairly unspectacular as far as possible unless 'activated'. Which means for example that there is not to be any additional wires that a normal PC wouldn't have.

Well that's it. Enjoy the show. Click on the menu at the left to view the parts of my Morningstar.
