Golden Tree Snake (Chrysopelea ornata): This beautiful snake was caught outside the cave where we catch our bats (it was a good night we caught several snakes). This species is one of the "flying snakes" and so it can glide from tree to tree, however when we tried to make it glide it did a rather good impression of falling! |
Same snake as the previous picture |
Oriental Whip Snake (Ahaetulla prasina): This fantastic little snake was caught outside our bat cave the same night as the Golden Tree Snake, however this little chap was a lot more docile, in fact it was almost tame. |
Same snake as the previous picture, but this time within our grasp! |
Common Tree Frog (Polypedates leucomystax): Some animal porn for those reprobates out there who enjoy this sort of stuff (you know who you are!!) |
Giant River Toad (Bufo asper): This toad is massive, about 22cm long, they have to be seen to be believed! This frog was spotted on a rock at the side of the river in Hala Bala Wildlife Sanctuary. |
Wallace's Flying Frog (Rhacophorus nigropalmatus): This was one of the catches of our time out here, this is one of the best frogs in the world, it is amazing!! For a closer look click on the picture |
The Flying frog waves goodbye from Dunc's hand, how cute! |
 Common Tree Frog, again! |
Unknown frog probably from the family Microhylidae |
A bat in the Hippocideros family, can't remember which one, I do know that it can give a really good bite (even through leather gloves!) |
The Giant River Toad again, however this time they decided to line them selves up on a nice ledge. This photo is taken inside one of the caves we visit |
