Disco Fever in Ponyland!

Even the oldest ponies feel young again now that the Rockin' Beat Ponies
have started to perform live at an open air festival. The band consists of four
ponies all different in their look, musical taste and character. As their success
and number of fans grow, I'm proud to present the shooting stars of Ponyland,
the Rockin' Beat Band!

Big credits go to Sweet Note who was the first member and founder of the
Rockin' Beat Band. Her favourite time in musical history are the 80s.
"I'm a big fan of pop and wave", Sweet Note says. "I grew up with this music
and it has always been a very important part of my life. Even today I like to
wear colourful eye-shadow, hot pink lipstick and glittery make-up. The 80s
were the best times ever, and with my music I try to revive them." Which she
certainly does when she plays her tunes on the keyboard! "It has always been
my dream to be in a band. With every new member our possibilities grew, and
so did our motivation. We knew we were not complete yet, so we waited until
Pretty Beat joined us before we started to perform life on stage. She's a great
vocalist, but our success depends on each member of the band. We all give our
best, in the studio and on the stage." What does Sweet Note think about music
and success? "Music is only good when it can make people forget about their
worries and make them dance. When I see a pony dancing to one of our songs
I know that we have made it. To see his work being appreciated and loved is the
biggest success an artist could ever have."

Tunefull was the second one to join the band. "At long last I was able to
express my true feelings", says the bold redhead. "When I play my electric
guitar, it seems as if my sould would break free." No doubt that the ponies
in the audience feel the same when Tunefull plays one of her famous guitar
solos - Big Brothers shake their heads like mad and one of the Sweetheart
Sisters even fainted during her rush of enthusiasm. "I write the guitar notes
myself", Tunefull told us proudly. "But often I have to fight with the other
members of the Rockin' Beat Band because they refuse to let me play my
music. They say it's too loud and that it gives them a headache. Fortunately
Rockin' Beat is on my side and I have her support. Yet when I want to listen
to Heavy Metal - which is my favourite kind of music - I have to use headphones.
Good music has to be loud, it has to touch every part of your body and soul.
Only then you're able to let yourself go with it!"

Half Note, the third member of the Rockin' Beat Band, spends most of her
time by trying to keep the others from fighting. "We're a happy bunch of ponies",
Half Note says, "But due to the different tastes some of us get into little fights
here and there. There's no need to worry though - to handle these difficulties
makes us grow stronger. The more we argue, the better we get to know each
other. I try to keep out of these fights though", she laughs. "I carry the spirit of
the Seventies in my soul, so my main principles are Love and Peace. This is
what I put into my music, and this is what it makes my music good." When
Half Note plays the guitar on the stage, hundreds of tiny flames are lit up by
the audience to accompany her soft melodies. "Tunefull and I also are the
drummers of the Rockin' Beat Band. Depending on who plays the guitar, the
other takes the drumsticks in her hooves. We're both not very good at it though,
but we learn more and more each day. I hope that soon we can go on a bigger
tour to pass the spirit of our music on - it should make every single pony out
there forget about her worries and be happy!"

The last pony to join the band and make it complete was Pretty Beat.
"I have been performing as a solo artist under the name Magenta earlier", says
the elegant artist. "When the Rockin' Beat Band asked me to join them, I first
wanted to refuse. I'm more like an outsider, but soon I discovered how wonderful
it is to perform with them. They seem to add all things to my music which have
been missing before. Being with the other girls also inspires me in writing my
own lyrics." It is obvious that the new vocalist of the Rockin' Beat Band has a
great talent. When she raises her dark, melodic voice, every pony in the audience
listens in awe. "I have the big luck to be blessed with this voice", she says.
"It can go up the most high-pitched tunes, and then down to a deep, hoarse
whisper. When I noticed that it lies within my power to make people laugh and
cry it felt very strange, but also good. This power is my most treasured
possession. When I joined the band I realised that my former music had been
too one-sided as I focused on sad and tracigal songs; I had to learn to be more
open-minded and accept the others' wishes. But still dark music is my favourite.
It touches a part deep inside of me and fills me with a kind of joy that is almost
painful. Beautiful." There's no doubt that the front-pony Pretty Beat, who loves
to be in the spotlight wearing her well-known, unique gothic outfits, has the greatest
number of fans and is being admired by many a pony. But no use in writing her
love-letters, Big Brothers! She is engaged to Chief and the marriage will be right
after the Rockin' Beat Band have completed their first big Ponyland World Tour
which is already being planned - and everyone's sure it will be a huge success!
