1ST AWD COUPE
Back in 1998, Hilal Sayed from Sydney (with the help of BAZ Motorsports) built the first ever AWD Lancer coupe in Australia (possibly even the world considering the Proton didn't hit Malaysia until 1997). What they achieved was simply amazing and it totally changed the way people looked at modifying the coupe from then on. Little did they know at the time, that they had inspired a new breed of AWD terror to run along side the popular Lancer GSR and EVO models. This is the car Mitsubishi should have built - A sporty AWD coupe...
This car is not in existence anymore. Shortly after the photo shoot above for Fast Fours & Rotaries Magazine in October 1998, the vehicle was involved in an accident outside BAZ Motorsports... It was a write-off!
