Background

Born Rowan Elyzabet Delaney to a lower middle class Irish family, Red struggled for everything she had. Her parents worked hard to provide the family with the material necessities, but oftentimes they were too busy and forgot the most essential need for a family… love. Left to fend for herself, Red began spending more and more time on the streets. Never one to let anyone take advantage of her, she quickly learned to defend herself. By the age of twelve she could defend herself against a fully grown man thrice her size and win. At the age of fifteen she was well known and often found herself employed as a personal bodyguard by one or another of the neighborhood bad boys, making enough money to help support her two younger brothers, and still put money away for herself for later.

Every spare moment she had, Red could be found in the library or bookstore with her nose in a book on various subjects including martial arts, self defense, weapons, and many others. She also took instruction in several forms of martial arts, achieving multiple levels of mastery in record time. Always one to be fully aware of her surroundings, her subconscious continually urged her to always thoroughly check out and know all avenues of approach, as well as retreat, to any place she went. She always investigates the contents of any building she is in, and never sits with her back to a door or where someone may approach her from behind.

Unlike most of the people whom employed her, Red never touched drugs or alcohol… she wouldn’t even smoke. Her thoughts on them were simple: why cripple herself? On her seventeenth birthday, when she was no longer bound by law to live under her parents’ roof, she bought a large townhouse and never went back to her parents’.

For the next nine years she worked for numerous clients, mostly from her hometown, to make ends meet. It is only through iron willed determination that she made a name and life for herself and a future of promise. She continued to send money to her brothers and sisters for what they needed, and visited them often. Both of them knew that if they ever needed her, all they had to do was call her and she would be there for them.
