Video Card "GPU"

In speaking of Video Cards and which one is the best is a very shady subject. Choosing between a GeForce4 400MX and the GeForce3 Ti500 is tricky. You'd think the newer GeForce4 400MX would be faster, but it's NOT! by far. As of right now (5-7-03) one of the best video cards for the money is the GeForce4 Ti4600. But the new RADEON 9900 is also out, but costs a boat load. Is it faster? Yes.. Does it cost more than my house? Yes. (well, not THAT much, but you get the picture)

As hard as it is, we cannot establish what video card is "the BEST" on the market. The reason for this is simply because a bigger better video card comes out every 4-6 months. Generally the rule of thumb here is if you go NVidia don't go below a GeForce Ti4200. (NEVER buy an MX to save money!) If you go RADEON style, Don't get below a RADEON 9500. We highly suggest the NVidia GeForce series, but the RADEON cards sometimes are indeed better.

For future reference: GPU stands for "Graphical Processing Unit"
