Denton Humane Society
is
always looking for volunteers.
If you would like
to volunteer for DHS you must:
* Be responsible and reliable
* Be at least 18 years old
We are presently in need of the following:
*Foster Homes--dogs/puppies or cats/kittens | *Mail Outs--folding papers and stuffing envelopes |
*Help for Fund
Raisers--general workers, photographers, Santa Claus, etc. |
*People to Conduct
Food Drives--helps people who are otherwise financially unable to keep
their pets |
*Temporary Foster Homes--keep
pets
in emergency situations or while foster family is out of town (typically 2 days to a week) |
*Community Outreach/Education--visiting
schools and other groups to spread the message of responsible pet ownership (training provided!) |
*Costume Construction--Easter
bonnets, bandanas, etc. for
pet picture events |
*Backdrop
Construction/Donations--for pet pictures, Ex. Poinsettias are
needed at Christmas |
*People Treat Bakers--provide
baked goods for volunteers at events such as pet pictures |
*Pre-event Assistance--stuff
doggie treat bags, prepare materials for events like Barktoberfest |
*Phone Volunteers--to help our
volunteer coordinator schedule people to work events |
*Transportation
Assistance--transport foster animals to veterinarians or from shelters |
*Occasional Help for Foster Families-- bathing, socialization, training, fence reinforcement, pooper scooper duty, etc. |
*Sign Construction--for garage sale, etc. |
*Do you have another
idea?--we've tried to think of the main areas where we need
assistance, but this list is by no means complete. If you have
another skill or suggestion, please contact us. |

KIDS CAN VOLUNTEER TOO!
DHS has youngsters inquire
as to how they can help us help the dogs and cats that are rescued.
Here are some creative ways that school age children-and their parents
too-can help.
