Greater Washington Association of Student Development Professionals values:

Student Development as viewed in a broad sense, not limited to a particular career path and including all those focused personally and professionally on student growth in higher education. |

Networking as the key manner in which professionals find opportunities for advancement. GWASDP therefore views networking to be a critical facet of its role as a professional association. |

Individuality and the individual strengths that each member brings to the association’s collective table. As such, GWASDP sees as a primary goal the advancement of new professionals, women and people of color in the field of student development. |

Community Involvement within the Greater Washington area. Therefore, GWASDP
encourages members to contribute their expertise to their communities in
order to provide important higher education information to future and
current students, parents, community and university leaders, policymakers
and other professionals. Community involvement includes, but is not limited
to facilitating workshops/information sessions, participating in local,
national and state conferences and contributing to the research and
literature pertaining to higher education and student development. |
