Beer Reviews: Tripels

Tripels are usually top-fermenting, like ales, but they often tend to be a bit lighter in color. Sometimes tripels will be spiced with coriander. Webster's tells us that coriander is 'an Old World herb (Coriandrum sativum) of the carrot family with aromatic fruits.' Does this mean drinking a lot of tripels will help our eyesight? Given the often very high alcohol content of these brews, I'd wager they do something else to one's eyesight when consumed in quantity. Still, they can be very enjoyable when taken in moderation....

Abbey Trippel (Triumph)

Chimay White (Chimay)

Dominion 10,000 Maniacs Tripel (Old Dominion)

Stoudt's Abbey Triple (Stoudt's)

Victory Golden Monkey (Victory)
